Summer Volunteer Opportunity
June – August 2025
Flexible scheduling available | Must commit to at least one shift per week.
What You'll Do:
Lead or assist guided tours of The Castle’s beautiful period rooms and exhibits
Engage guests of all ages with local history, architecture, and Victorian life
Answer visitor questions and help them connect with the past in meaningful ways
Represent The Castle and support the museum’s mission to preserve and share history
What You’ll Gain:
Hands-on experience in public history, museum education, and tour interpretation
Opportunities to build confidence and public speaking skills
Training and scripts provided – no prior experience necessary
Free admission to select museum events and programs

Retirees and adults looking for a fulfilling and engaging way to give back
Anyone curious about the past and eager to share it with others
Requirements:
Enthusiasm, reliability, and a friendly attitude
Age 14+ (with parent/guardian permission for minors)
Attend orientation/training in early June
Minimum 3-month commitment (June–August), 1+ shift per week
Comfortable standing/walking during tours (accessibility roles also available)
