Ghost Tours

Friday, October 26th 2012 to Saturday, October 27th 2012

The Castle, built in 1855, has seen many happenings going on; political, social, and paranormal. From the beginning of its existence stories have been told about this Victorian Mansion. The oldest part dates from the 1830s, and there have been multiple deaths in the house, both upstairs and downstairs. There has been a death in every bedroom, and every room has a story to tell.

Join us to hear the stories passed down by visitors, volunteers and staff, told by docents who have had experiences of their own in their years of service here.

The first tour goes at 7pm, with another tour starting every fifteen minutes, last tour is at 9pm. The tour takes approx. 45 minutes and will be going up stairs. This is a lantern-guided tour through a darkened house and is not appropriate for children under age 8. This is a popular tour, please call for reservations! 740-373-4180

This is not a 'haunted fun house' but is a tour that tells the history and actual accounts of paranormal activity. Cameras are not allowed in the museum portion of the house, however pictures can be taken outside, in the carriage house and in the summer kitchen.
